In a jealous fury James Ahearn an cabman shot and killed James Black an upholsterer and fatally wounded Mary Woody Black's housekeeper before shooting himself. Mary Woods a former sweetheart of Ahearn had left him to work for Black.
In Atlanta March 31 three large rattlesnakes were killed at the home of Probation Officer Gleer, 129 Windsor Street, by Mrs Gloer who was alone with her two children. The reptiles emerged from a hole beneath the front yard fence and were dispatched with a hoe.
