General rainstorm across the South brings up to 5 inches in Jackson Mississippi and 3.18 inches in Atlanta. Chattahoochee river warnings issued as colder air follows and flood risk rises. Ohio Valley reports eight inches in Dayton and six inches in Columbus with widespread travel disruption.
Atlanta March 19 unofficial but authoritative reports say the University of Georgia trustees have unanimously chosen Justice Andrew J Cobb of the Supreme Court as successor to Chancellor Walter B Hill. Dancing class tonight at Elks Hall features Miss Chio Emily Gilbert in a soirée at 8 o clock.

The Carnival of Commerce brings a unique amateur entertainment to Albany with ladies and children performing under professional guidance. The program blends pantomimes and vaudeville acts with electrical tableaux, featuring nearly all leading city firms and high class acts.
The Chicago Federation of Labor declares a war on the Undertakers' Association calling it a trust of the worst order. A resolution bars union members from buying non union caskets or acting as pallbearers for funerals using non union caskets. The union will push to suppress the funeral trust.
A telegram reports the death of C. M. Shivers in Eatonton after a long illness. Former Albany resident, he started the M. Shivers Drug Co. and later managed a Sale-Davis store branch. He left Albany for Rome and is survived by his wife, née Miss Prince of Americus, and a daughter Mildred. Funeral set for Americus home.
About six hundred miners in mines within twenty miles of Ouray Colorado are cut off from outside communication by a snow slide. It is feared twenty miners may have died. Twenty five mines are isolated and losses could reach a million dollars.
The final rehearsal for the Carnival of Commerce is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 4 at the opera house. Seats cost 50 cents on the lower floor and 25 cents in the balcony, with proceeds benefiting the charity hospital.

An extra train on the Mobile & Ohio railroad near Fletcher Alabama derailed after hitting a washout. Engineer Armstrong and his fireman were crushed beneath the locomotive and died. The Knights of Maccabees lodge in the area plans a special meeting with George W. Gunder as guest.
