St Petersburg March 17 The evidence in the Port Arthur surrender investigation against General Stoessel grows more damaging to his reputation. He now demands that General Nogi and other Japanese commanders be summoned as witnesses to prove the heroic character of his defense.
Savannah marked a grand St Patrick's day with parades by three divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Emmett Rifles. Mass at St Patrick's church followed, with about five hundred participants. The day concluded with a Monday banquet by the Hibernian Society at the DeSoto Hotel.
