Clyde Line Steamer Favaho Ashore Off Cape Fear

The Clyde Line steamer Favaho from Wilmington to New York ran ashore on Middle Ground Shoals off Cape Fear in ten feet of water during a southwest storm. The Seminole revenue cutter and three tugs aided but could not move her at high tide. The vessel is badly listed and a second attempt to float her was planned as cargo was being lightered.

Distinguished visitors coming to Albany for a visit

A Rivers and Harbors Committee group from the national House of Representatives will arrive in Albany at 7 30 Friday morning and stay until about 11 o clock with entertainment arranged by local committees. Death of Major Livingston Mims in Atlanta

Major Livingston Mims died at his Peachtree Street home in Atlanta at 2 a m after a period of critical illness. He was a former mayor and for twenty years head of the Capital City Club and a renowned Georgia figure, an ally of Jefferson Davis who served in the Confederate armies.
