The body of the late Marshall Field arrived by special train from New York. A private funeral will be held at his residence at noon tomorrow due to limited space. Many businesses will close two hours for the ceremony and Field employees will hold a memorial at the Auditorium, with older workers admitted.

In Pembroke New Hampshire on January 18 authorities reopened their probe into a fatal incident in which Charles F. Ayer is suspected of killing his mother in law his wife and five children and burning the home. After the blaze the farm buildings were destroyed and Ayer shot himself at a sister's house six miles away. He died without leaving a statement to reveal the exact cause of his seven relatives' deaths.
