The Clyde liner Cherokee, traveling from San Domingo to New York, remains hard aground near the South Bridgatine Life-saving Station. All passengers and crew were removed except the captain and three crew members, after a dense fog delayed further contact. No word has come from the vessel since last evening.
A cablegram from Buenos Aires reports the bark Octavia wrecked off the coast between Porto Sedanos and Porto Mogetas. American Vice-Consul Daniel Meyer, aboard Bahaya Blanca, was on board. no details available, likely all crew lost.
