Chicago reports Mrs. Franklin Hollister, wife of a Ty potherae member, was found strangled with copper wire. Detectives investigated after she failed to return home. The body showed signs of robbery and resistance, discarded on a trash pile. A boy, Richard Ivins, later confessed to the murder.
