Funeral Service for Mrs Whiting Held in Petersburg
Final rites will be held at 2 p m Sunday at the Salvation Army chapel for Mrs James Whiting who died Thursday at Petersburg hospital after a long illness. She leaves four sons Frederick and George Reynolds of Petersburg and Ellis and Percy Reynolds of Juneau, a sister Eva Booth of Craig, and many relatives. Born November 17 1882 in Snohomish Washington she came to Alaska in 1924 making Craig home for ten years serving as postmistress before moving to Petersburg. Captain George Lloyd to conduct the service with burial in Petersburg cemetery.

Ten Tons Come In On The Robert Eugene
The charter boat Robert Eugene delivered ten tons of merchandise to local merchants on Tuesday. Five tons were frozen meat and five tons fresh produce including melons and potatoes. The vessel ended its run and headed south with three carloads of frozen halibut for the Co operative Halibut Producers. More fish will go south early next week.
