The Wrangell region sees scores of halibut boats and prices listed with many vessels selling or delivering to Ketchikan Petersburg Rupert and Seattle. Names include Balder Gjoa Sea bound Eunice Velvet and Arcades boats with prices ranging from thousands to over forty thousand pounds. Reports note 300000 pounds landed in Seattle yesterday and several boats still out with fishing activity continuing.

Dedge Expects Petersburg Dredging Start July First
Don Bell, superintendent for Manson-Osberg, said dredging in Petersburg should begin around July 1. Wrangell delays from rock formations slowed progress, with Wrangell project starting May 2 after Mellakatla completion.
