The Nevada pers reports W R Hurst of New York intends to reside in Nevada and would establish a bid for the U S Senate, noting the state already faces troubles and would endure this development as a calamity.
Alamogordo citizens defend Tularosa event against Advertiser mockery. They praise the dinner, dances, and hospitality given as a courtesy to Gov. Curry, noting Democrats and Republicans attended and that Alamogordo people spoke highly of the entertainment.
A syndicate of English capitalists purchased eleven Silver Hill mining claims in the Orogrande district for 75000. The Joe Necker claim yielded a rich gold find, with others named Mamie Pass Great Western Panic Michite Tricite Shamrock and Calthoop. Dawson Ruby own Shamrock and Calthoop. Culver Downs own the rest. Laner Co. of Toronto financed the deal. The Smelter Co. is being reorganized and should resume operations soon. Otero County anticipates a great awakening for the district.
