The law requires every able bodied man aged twenty one to sixty to pay a road tax of three dollars or to labor three days on the public roads. Supervisor W P Eidson of Road District No 1 Alamogordo notes strict enforcement and that M B L Williams collects road tax payments, with options to pay at the Improvement Company's office.
Department of Territorial Engineer Santa Fe NM October 6 1905 notice that Herbert W Wolcott and JL Law Con of Alamogordo Otero County NM applied July 1 1908 for a permit to appropriate public waters from Sacramento River in NW quarter section 10 township 108 range 12 west B6 by diversion and 60 cubic feet per second for irrigation and power and domestic use. Lawson of Alamogordo file for a permit to appropriate public waters from Grapevine Canon using a 20000 acre foot storage reservoir plus canals and ditches for power and irrigation. Territorial Engineer Vernon L. Sullivan will consider on December 10. Objections must be filed by that date.
