The 37th legislature requires all able bodied men ages twenty one to sixty to pay a three dollar road tax or work three days on roads annually. Lawson apply to the Territorial Engineer for a permit to appropriate public waters from the Sacramento River area in Otero County to convey up to 60 cubic feet per second via ditches and pipelines for irrigation and power. Herbert W. Wolcott and J. L. Lawson of Alamogordo seek a permit under the Irrigation Law to appropriate public waters from Grapevine Canon. They plan a 20 000 acre foot storage reservoir and canals to supply power irrigation and domestic use. Objections must be filed with the Territorial Engineer Vernon L. Sullivan by December 8.
