The piece argues that both old parties corrupt and that socialism offers a fairer system where work is fully rewarded, wealth isn’t amassed by bribes, and all will obtain life’s necessities through diligence and honesty. It claims socialism ends poverty and exploitation by replacing capitalist incentives with common effort.
W. P. Metcalf is announced as a candidate for Delegate to Congress on the Socialist ticket. The notice asks supporters to give him their suffrage and mentions a Kodak film developing and printing service by Jim A. Alexander with reasonable prices and neat work.
Card of thanks expresses gratitude for support during illness and death of wife and mother. Also notes sizable agricultural yields from a silver maple grove: 46 cords of fuel per acre in 24 years, 1 296 catalpa posts in 21 years, and 352 telegraph poles in 29 years with average annual returns of 6.65, 9.26, and 12.14 dollars per acre respectively.

Listings for a 1907 REO Touring Car priced at 750 dollars with five seats and new tires, a four cylinder Ford at 475 dollars in good condition, and a REO Runabout at 400 dollars. All cars advertised as guaranteed in good condition by C. M. Barber of El Paso Texas.
The law requires able bodied men aged 21 to 60 to pay a three dollar road tax or labor on roads. Alamogordo’s Road District No. 1 supervisor W R Eidson will oversee the fund and road use, with B L Williams authorized to collect tax. The tax will be strictly enforced and payments may be made at the Improvement Company's office.
Herbert W. Wolcott and J. L. Lawson of Alamogordo apply for a permit to appropriate Public Waters from Sacramento River for irrigation power and domestic use. Diversion from the river to locations in ranges 11 12 east, with 60 cubic feet per second capacity, for as many acres as possible. Objections due by December 8, 1908. Territorial Engineer Vernon L. Sullivan signs the notice.
Herbert W. Wolcott and J. L. Lawson of Alamogordo applied to the Territorial Engineer for a permit to appropriate public waters from Grapevine Canon. The plan includes a 20,000 acre foot storage reservoir to supply power irrigation and domestic use through canals and ditches to unsurveyed townships. Objections must be filed by December 8, 1908. Vernon L. Sullivan, Territorial Engineer.

Notice records W T Wells of Alamogordo applying to the Territorial Engineer for an irrigation permit to divert 8 cubic feet per second from flood waters of San Andreas Arroyo and a dry canyon north of it to Secs 29-32 T17S R10W. Objections due by Nov 23, 1908. Also, Lemorah J. Match of Alamogordo seeks final commutation proof for a homestead claim in Sec 2, T16S, R9E, NM. Witnesses listed.
