Twelve year old Buster Lane nearly died in a house fire caused by a kerosene and gasoline mix in a can. He wrapped a blanket around himself to escape as flames blocked exit, and was rushed to hospital with severe burns likely needing skin grafts. Glen Hudman and others helped burst the door and carry him to safety. His condition improved over several days.

Mrs. Casey Klasen of Tinnie Lincoln county pursues research on early Indian wars. Her father Robert Casey served as scout and guide with Captain McKibben in the Apache campaign and moved to Lincoln county in 1866. He fought in the Mexican and Civil Wars. Ed L Oliver a longtime Alamogordo merchant and devout Church of Christ member died after a spell of acute indigestion at his son G B Oliver Jr s home. Born in Baldwyn Mississippi in 1845 he lived most of his life in Alamogordo where he and his wife Mattie Booth raised five children and eleven grandchildren. He was remembered for charity work and a Christian life. Interment was at Mount Vista Cemetery beside his father.

Arm strong and Armstrong road contractors of El Paso Texas have a 21000 contract to surface about 74 miles of the Alamogordo Las Cruces state highway. Burglars of Allen Store Sentenced
Judge Frenger sentenced two youths for the Allen store and warehouse burglary with terms from 18 months to two years. In Paso June 17 motor stage service will inaugurate June 20 between Amarillo Texas and Raton New Mexico. The new line joins with California and Denver schedules creating a through route from the Southwest to the Pacific Northwest.
