He sold a team to Lon Bristow in Bedford for about 200 dollars and was last heard from before a possible sighting in Beatrice Nebraska. Cline, 40, 5 feet 8 inches, fair hair and mustache, weighs 140 pounds, owns a Worth County Missouri farm and ships stock. family fears foul play and continues searches.
Des Moines city council is likely to approve a consent petition for a half million dollar brewery plant. The council committee has not reported but its favor is expected as only 800 signatures were struck from the petition, a margin of more than 1,500. The Anti-Saloon League plans to seek grounds to challenge the petition in court.
P J Henger a farm hand about 40 was found hanged on a willow tree four miles east of Remsen along the railroad right of way. The body was badly decomposed. Henger was known to drink heavily and lacked relatives or money. Plymouth County will bury the body.
The Burlington fast flyer bound for Chicago from Omaha struck a freight at the Wabash crossing in eastern Council Bluffs Monday night. Engineer Nelson H. Wood and Fireman E. Hosier, both Creston men, suffered burns and died shortly after. The mail train carried no passengers. the engine was demolished and the train returned to Omaha then proceeded to Chicago via Plattsmouth.
