Special correspondence notes gatherings and shifts in the Milnerville area. Mrs Oscar Klein and Miss Lucille Maloney host the F L G club this Saturday. Speero youths move to Sioux City for winter. Rural schools begin with staff changes and a study center at the county seat. Picnics canceled due to cold. State Fair draws few from Plymouth County because of rain and cold. Mrs Richard Milner’s sister and husband travel to northern Minnesota for a week of fishing. Joo Wilson enters high school in Sioux City and will live in the Sioux Apartment hotel. Sioux City visitors and locals travel county roads for wild grapes. Local families report a minor automobile mishap, no injuries. A heavy rain and wind storm causes light damage but is welcomed. Woodbury County fair at Moville features strong stock exhibits and lively racing in rain. Mrs John Hull aids in corn canning. Will Lawrence family visits Sioux City. Mrs Will Lawrence and daughters visit. Mrs John Lawrence notes crops replanted after storms may recover if frosts are mild. College students from the area return to schools. Family visits Maycock in hospital. A September 25 Farmers Union meeting at West Hotel, Sioux City, announced. open to the public.
Westfield Middlings lists social visits and travels. Mr and Mrs B Hartman and son Rudolph plus Mr and Mrs Ben Hartman visited Pom eroy Iowa. Families move back to Akron. Distinct gatherings include Vermillion South Dakota and Milwaukee Wisconsin visitors. Des Moines State Fair attendance noted and threshing season ends.
Mrs Wayne Lilly hosted the Ladies Aid last Thursday at her sister Mrs A W Hummels home. A good crowd attended and enjoyed the afternoon. Edward Spaulding has taken a job at Montgomery Ward in Des Moines. John Bertrand has been ill at home. Several students are returning to colleges Catherine Spaulding Yankton Elsa Cassel Ames Mary Spaulding Town City. The Congregational Ladies Aid to serve a dinner next Sunday September 16 at Community Hall starting 11 30 a m patronage appreciated.
The community mourns Mrs Catherine Martin also known as Grandma Martin who died at home after a fall aged 87. Born in Ireland in 1848 she lived in Galena Sioux City and Westfield raising a large family including nine children and fifteen grandchildren with two daughters Camilla and Loretta. her funeral was at St Patrick's Ak ron with many attending from near and far.

HA Schumacher is now able to be out after three weeks in bed. Bill Burnight and Charlie Marshall joined Mr Hemmingson to Spencer for the fair. Amanda Hendricks returned from a week in Sioux City. Friends of Mrs Solomon Johnson cheer her recovery from Akron hospital operation.
Mr and Mrs Fred Renken and sons Randall and Keith visit the B Borchers home along with the Herman Frerichs family and Shirley West LeMars. Spencer fair attendees include Abe Miller Kilert Miller Clare Morehead Barth Miller and Jesse Sallsen plus others.
Names of local families attend a Sunday reunion in Cleveland park Le Mars and various callers visit homes across the countryside. A Friday hail and wind storm caused significant damage in the neighborhood.
Union Creek church will hold services Sunday at 11 with Sunday school at 10 am The missionary meeting is postponed to Thursday September 19 at the church Rev Samuelson of Akron will speak Lunch will be served Everyone is invited The Junior Mission Band meets Saturday and its sale is set for October 4 Various locals spent time at friends and relatives and many traveled to Alcester for churchgoing.
The Aftieth anniversary services at Nathaniel Lutheran Church were led by Rev. D. J. Edward. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kapfer spent Monday afternoon at the John Frisk home. Kenneth and Carl left for Huron to attend the state fair Wednesday morning. Opal Summervold visits Dorothy Tulleren. Ana Olson and Milford Anderson spent Sunday evening at the Olson home.
On August 30 1935 the District Court of Plymouth County Texas appoints the undersigned as executrix of the estate of William W Burrill deceased. All persons indebted to the estate must make payment to the undersigned promptly and secure any further claims per probate notice.
