High way 12 work began west edge of Akron. Eight Centerville S D tennis players lost to a visiting team 20 to 5. Westfield whipped Akron 14 to 1 at Riversioux Park. Wm Onnen August 30 1984. A daughter to Mr and Mrs Lloyd Morehead August 30 1984. Died Mrs Heike Neunaber 72 at home east of LeMars. Surviving: two sons Frank LeMars and John Akron, a daughter Mrs Katharine Albertson Keystone Ind, three grandchildren. Pleasant weather with hints of frost. Kathleen Keane began nurse training at St Joseph Hospital Sioux City. Russell Pollock leased E J Hammer building for Pantry Lunch care. Mr Hammer closed store and plans to move to California. Boden relatives held a large family picnic at Neary's Park with attendees from a distance.

At a Perry Creek road intersection a collision involving O B Akers auto driven by his son Forrest and a car carrying Misses Verna and Vera Gabel caused injuries.Mrs O B Akers and her younger son Elmer suffered cuts and bruises.
