Miss Elizabeth Tracy of Hollywood and sister Mary Sprague of Sioux City were Sunday visitors in the James Tracy home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Welch and daughter Allison Marie of Excelsior Springs Missouri visited relatives before flying to Phoenix to see Herman Harbeck family in Arizona. Town election set for November 2nd.

Eighth Grade News Highlights From Hawarden Visit

At the start of the year the class numbered 36 students. Susan Davis moved Friday to Hawarden and the eighth grade wishes her luck. Mr Seipp led seventh and eighth graders to Akron to tour the Opera house and the class enjoyed the trip. Friday the cheerleaders were selected Diane Hoffman Luanne Rohmiller Debbie Kroksh and Julie Banks.

Obituary Mrs. James Traut 84 Akron resident dies at home

Mrs. James Traut aged 84 of Akron dies at her home on Monday October 11. Funeral at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Akron at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Rev. Stanley R. Stone. Pallbearers listed and distant relatives attended. She was born Anna Gleason July 5 1887 in Plymouth County and married James Trautt October 6 1909. Survivors include husband two daughters seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery Alvon. She served on Akron library board for 45 years and taught in Akron. Also member of Catholic Daughters of America American Legion auxiliary and Catholic Woman's League. Recent note about drinking and driving awareness from Liberty Mutual follows.
