Milnerville residents report health updates as two children had tonsils removed at Akron hospital. Hancock township PTA plans October 21 meeting with Professor Smith to speak. Ivyl Knapp and family take a Minneapolis trip while Mrs H H Epperson stays with the children. Mrs Marie Fursee hosts a farm meeting with a self-serve lunch. Aid group draws new mystery sisters and elects officers Grace Pike, Hazel Taylor, Marion Banks, Maud Knapp. Visitors from Sioux City attend dinners and church clubs. local farms see corn picker trials and farm work. A chicken pie social at Adaville raises about 100 dollars for church needs. Several families visit relatives in Sioux City and Vermillion. Parks, Milners, Hathaways and Cassen family news included. Vance Hunter returns from Arizona. Mitchell Corn Palace stop noted.
Union Creek News reports Sunday services at 11 o'clock with Sunday school at 10. Mission services Sunday evening at 8 led by Dr Ford and Rev Edstrom. There will be an additional service Monday morning at 11 at the church.
Services and Bible study scheduled Monday at 2 o clock with Rev. Jonson of Sioux Falls among speakers. Evening services Monday at 8. Ladies' Aid to meet Luther Hall Thursday Oct 20 with Mrs Hugo Granstrom host. Cordial invitation extended to all.
Inwood Iowas Mr and Mrs Herman Jacobs Jr visited the Hamiltons Friday. Ned Carroll family Elk Point were Sunday callers at Flatvey Welch and Ed Lewison homes. Hultgren Bros finished threshing for Dick Hamilton and Bill Skinner. Russell Skinner family visited his brother Wm Skinner Friday. About fifty relatives gathered at Alfred Swanson home Sunday for a birthday surprise. Richard Ball family moved back to Garland occupying the Frank Miller house Lizzie Miller staying with sister Mrs Walter Heyl. Dick Hamilton Mr and Mrs Winl Skinner and daughter visited Ball Bros Sunday afternoon Will Halvorsen Akron visiting in the area.
The Preston 4-H club will hold its next meeting on Saturday afternoon October 15 1938 with Miss Dorothy Milbrodt as club reporter in attendance.
The Westfield Willing Toilers 4-H club will meet Saturday October 15 at 2 30 PM at Bonnie and Beulah Port home for roll call they will continue My Favorite School Lunch Bring tee sheets pencil and paper.
