Special Correspondent reports Miss Oda Jenkins of Akron visiting Milnerville neighbors with Mrs. C. P. Knapp. Lorraine Helm returns from Wayne State Teachers College for the weekend. Violet Fry visits with her sister. Alfred Fry and Ursula attend St Thomas Episcopal in Sioux City. Families, travel to California and back, with trips via Grand Canyon and Boulder Dam, recounted by Akron relatives.

Herbert Swanson cut corn fodder for Chris Wilkens Saturday. Mr and Mrs Carrol Hamilton and children and Mr and Mrs Dick Hamilton were dinner guests at the Wm Skinner home Sunday for his birthday. Mrs Peter Hanson and son of Beresford were callers at Melvin Hanson s Thursday. Mr and Mrs Roy Fickbohm and son of Sioux Falls visited his parents Saturday afternoon. Mrs Wyatt Heyl visited her mother Mrs C A Hamilton Monday afternoon. Chris and Menga Wilken and Chas Kelley visited Monday evening at the Harvey Welch home.
A basket social will be held Tuesday evening October 11 at Happy Hollow school Dist 1. Ladies bring baskets for a program and a play. Everyone invited. Dorothea Taylor teaches. Mr and Mrs Frank Smith and Virgil attended the corn palace in Mitchell SD Friday then visited Burke SD with John Smith and relatives. H F club met September 26 with Mrs Kilstrom and will meet October 11 with Mrs L C Huebsch. All members come.

Delegates at the fourth biennial convention of the American Lutheran church in Zion Lutheran church Sandusky Ohio October 14 to 20 will consider a pension plan already presented to the thirteen districts. A limited aid program currently supports aged and needy pastors through the board of aids.
Akron stormed to a 16-6 win over LeMars highlighted by Beaubien two homers Martin a triple and three singles Tucker a triple and two singles and a 16 hit attack. LeMars only managed two hitters, A Reuter and Honnold, with two hits apiece despite late pressure.

A county bulletin notes a sealed supply of corn totaling 336,718 bushels. Officials confirm stock is stored under seal in local granaries and will be inventoried for distribution and pricing planning.
Seated in Plymouth county, Coun ty AAA Chairman Detloff estimates about 40 percent of corn will be re sealed and about 60 percent turned in under the loan contract. The corn sealed at an average of about 48 cents per bushel after moisture deductions from the 60 cent loan price. It can be turned in for the full loan amount, including interest, yielding a margin of around 10 cents per bushel over the current 40 cent price. No blanks have been reserved for turning in corn or resealing at the 67 cent price. Depositories not yet designated. questionnaires sent to farmers ask intentions and convenient shipping points for delivery. Loan program instructions for 1938 corn not yet received. It is estimated about 40 percent will be eligible for corn loans this year, with 26 percent previously credited with full compliance.
