Winter Fire and Wedding Reported in Sioux Valley
A cold wave blanketed the region with ice forming an eighth of an inch. A prairie fire started in the Jos Kimball grove north of town and, driven by high winds, consumed several grain stacks before neighbors halted its advance. W R Downer’s farm buildings were saved. The wedding of Wm Kapfer and Miss Elizabeth Carlson took place September 27 at the Carlson home in Sioux Valley township with Rev Anderson officiating.

Victim of Auto Accident Buried At Local Funeral Home
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p m for Mrs. Mary Louise Smith of Schafter California who died Saturday night in a one car crash west of Dubuque Iowa. Her husband Noble Smith is hospitalized with a neck injury. The service was conducted by Rev Luther A Meyer at Riverside cemetery with soloist Mrs Meyer and a list of pallbearers.
