Thanksgiving Guests in Area Homes Across Sioux City

Thanksgiving guest lists span several families in Sioux City and nearby towns. The Clark Tilly home hosted multiple relatives including the Gruix and Duryanek families. Westfield Congregational church social rooms were filled with attendees from Hin ton, Ponca, Adaville, and Hawarden. Local service members and relatives traveled for gatherings, and social events included a Rural Mail Carriers meeting in Plymouth County.

Area pork producing champions named in Iowa contest

Donald Bleama of Manson Iowa has been named Champion Pork Producer in the area by Farmers Hybrid Hogs of Hampton Iowa. He raised 282 pigs from 29 sows at an average of 0.78 pigs per litter and a daily gain of 1.22 pounds. The award was announced at Ames on the University campus and Bleam’s win advances to the International Livestock Expo in Chicago.
