Iowa Board of Health drops routine smallpox vaccine

The Iowa State Board of Health at the November meeting in Des Moines adopted a policy ending routine smallpox vaccination in Iowa following a Public Health Service recommendation tied to global eradication. Dr. Arnold Reeve noted travel vaccination remains required and urged ongoing immunizations every three to five years for health workers. Plymouth County Farm Bureau Tops Iowa For 1971

Plymouth County Farm Bureau was named top county Farm Bureau in Iowa for 1971 at the annual convention. J Merrill Anderson presented the first place plaque in Veterans Auditorium, praising Plymouth for its all around program.
