The Register-Tribune publishes the publishers rate card noting a four year subscription for two dollars and eight months for one eighty, with fifty cents for monthly terms. The notice lists Akron as the town and includes post office filing details and the September 26, 1901 entry date.
Mr and Mrs Myron Olson visit Fairview residents while Mrs A J Thornton travels to Akron. St Catharines Guild meets hosted by Mrs Lorne Ross with plans for one more 1939 officer election meeting on December 1. Mrs Carl Kruek and son return from Sioux City with Mr Kruek. Large crowd attends high school triple header basketball with Town team girls and both boys teams defeating St Marys Remsen. Thanksgiving plans include Beaubien and family in Sioux City, Maxine Lorraine Shearer visiting Evelyn Campbell in Sioux City Friday to Sunday, and Jordan hosting guests with Des Moines King and Sioux City kin. Raymond Olson Billy Tracy and Mrs Beaubien attend Friday games. Carl Kruck and son visiting Kingsley as Mr Kruck sails. Spaulding to host Thanksgiving Day dinner. The Misses Greathead Bovilan Lyle Marek and Jacobson plan Thanksgiving with relatives. Meckling SD hosts our boys first and second teams Friday night.

Various hospital visits and birthday milestones noted among local residents, plus social visits and open houses linked to Alcester and Akron communities.
The District Court of Plymouth County Iowa appoints Fred Labahn as Administrator of the Estate of Josephine Labahn deceased. The Westfield Consolidated School District invites proposals for furnishing equipment and exterior caulking. Bids due December 12, 1938, at 2:00 p.m., opened publicly in Westfield Iowa. Each bid requires 5 percent certified check and a full bond. Work to be completed by January 12, 1938 under Federal Public Works Administration rules. Clara B. Chapman, secretary.
On November 4 1938 Clifford F Metz was appointed administrator of the estate of Adolph G Metz deceased by the District Court of Plymouth County Iowa. He will make payments under signed and all persons having claims against the estate must present them to the court for allowance. Publish dates November 10 17 and 24 1938.
Iowa State College agronomist Joe L. Robinson says there is no reason to rush into buying hybrid seed corn now. He notes enough seed has been grown this summer to meet expected spring demand and expects prices to fall or stay level rather than rise.
