Veterans Auxiliary meeting aids hospital families
Regular meeting of the VFW Auxiliary had good attendance. A box of gifts was sent to Knoxville Hospital for Veterans for Xmas and stuffed toys. A five book canteen donation was mailed to Veterans Hospital Sioux Falls. Scrapbooks to be made and delivered to Mrs Dan Blake Jr by the 25th for delivery to the Children's Nome Iowa City. Gold Star Mothers will be entertained.

Recorder Henning Gassman and Sigfried and Malcolm Fredell of Sioux Valley went to Presto on Tuesday to register for Tripp county land. T. M. Squires, back in town for the first time since Aug 25, faced county board orders after his farm animals were struck by anthrax. He reported losing a horse, a span of mules, and seven hogs, while the rest of his herd was vaccinated and survived.
