Cross Compliance Rules For 1966 Feed Grain And Wheat Programs

The U S Department of Agriculture will keep basic cross compliance features for 1966, with new farm programs under the 1965 Food and Agriculture Act. Cecil J Kennedy explains eligibility requires reducing feed grain acreage, diverting it to conserving uses, and maintaining conserving acreage plus diverted acreage. Wheat rules demand meeting wheat diversion provisions and staying within wheat allotments on other farms. Participants may join both programs on the same farm if substituting wheat for feed grains, and cropland adjustment requires staying within crop allotments and maintaining conserving uses equal to base plus diverted acreage.
