Mrs Jim McKee and Mrs Orson Liston visited the Liston family last Wednesday. Sunday visitors were Mr and Mrs Johnny Van Wyhs and family of Ireton. Westfield couple Romar Whitney visited Wes Crow one evening last week. R Tentinger and family were guests last Sunday in rural Hawarden. Mrs Dennis Bultman and daughter Jennifer aided Mr Anderson's 85th birthday in Akron. G Moller and H Collmann joined Mrs Jack Lake to Hartley to see Mrs Clara Collmann ill. Gary A Moller, home briefly, later left for Ames. Mr G Johnson of Akron hosted Friday luncheon with Henry Collmann. Sunday visitors in Henry Ludwigs included Albert Erks, Clarence Ludwigs, and Mrs Tim Repp with Mrs F Hemmerrick. Birthday reminder for Mrs Henry Collmann came with visits from Collmanns, Mollers, Lakers, Scott, and Bud Peck. Sunday luncheon guests in H Collmanns included William Borchers of Le Mars. Other Sunday guests were Art De Raad, Clara Satthoff, Lizzie Anderson. Tim Repp and Alcester, MD’s Harold Jones were also present. A large crowd attended a church basement bazaar last Saturday afternoon.

Mary Waddle 84 of 719 South Second Avenue Sioux Falls S D died November 4 1972 after a lengthy illness Funeral services November 7 were conducted by Rev Donald Greenough with grandson Robert Adams and Mrs Robert Waagmeester singing How Great Thou Art and The Lord's Prayer Pallbearers were grandsons Dean Waddle William Adams Jerome Fiene Allen Heesch Lowell Heesch and Calvin Heesch Interment Summit Hill Cemetery Garretson Mary A Brown born December 27 1887 near Milnerville Town attended by family in Merrill Webster Roslyn and Garretson areas later operated a Gamble Store in Garretson retiring 1952 She was survived by two sons Jesse Arcadia Nebraska Glen Sioux Falls two daughters Mrs Russell Adams Leavenworth Kansas Mrs Delbert Heesch Sioux Falls two brothers Amos Brown Verndale Minnesota Spencer Sanford Menahga Minnesota 12 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren preceded in death by husband 1954 son Francis killed in World War II Metz France 1944 and brother Sidney Sanford Member of WSCS Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary Garretson The funeral was attended by Mrs C P Knapp of Westfield and many Westfield Akron and Sioux City friends.
The Hinton Tops Club honored our group for the most weight lost in eight weeks with a low cal salad supper. Last week we held a masquerade Halloween party with games and a low cal lunch.
Richard Dirks of Dirks Motor Co. was elected to the Chevrolet Regional Dealer Council after returning from a Kansas City meeting. The council, part of a nationwide dealer program begun in 1937, gathers dealer input for Chevrolet Motor Division. Dirks has run Akron Chevrolet since 1963. The Akron Junior Achievers 4-H club met at Bonnie and Lisa Caskey home with fourteen members and three leaders. Lisa Osterbuhr attended as a visitor. Officers elected for next year include President Cindy Anderson and Vice President Bonnie Caskey. Committees were formed for the Christmas party and members enrolled for next year. Talks on wildlife conservation and water pollution were given, and a lunch followed.
Funeral services were held for F Thomas Dreeszen 72 of Akron at Adaville United Methodist Church with Rev Larry Vallery officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery Adaville. He was born March 15 1900 and farmed until 1966 retiring. Survived by widow a daughter and several sons and grandchildren.

Richard E Ball 76 of Alcester area died Friday November 3 1972 at the Veterans Administration Hospital Sioux Falls following several weeks illness. He was born December 28 1895 near Alcester and lived most of his life in the community. He served in World War I and was active in Union Creek Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife Harriett two sons Richard Jr and James a daughter Sharon Van Wyhe ten grandchildren three brothers and three sisters. Funeral was held November 7 at Union Creek Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery.
