The Akron Register-Tribute announces publishing details with ownership by Hazel Velgene and Fran Miller of EWS Inc. The paper is issued each Thursday in Akron Plymouth County Iowa with postal entry on September 26, 1901. Subscription rates are six dollars yearly, four dollars for six months in nearby counties and seven dollars elsewhere.

Luanne Kruse became the bride of Arlan Sandvik in a garden ceremony at the bride’s parents home in rural Manilla on October 4, 1975. The double ring rite was conducted by Pastor James Sandvik and Pastor Edward Heinicke. The couple will reside in Story City after a California wedding trip.

Participants include Helen Horton Minnie Johnson Lizzie Tindall May Ross Elsie Anderson and several Andersons and Haages with extensive local engagement.
Plymouth county veterans of WWI barracks 1507 and auxiliary will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 8 at the Eagles Building in Le Mars. Refreshments will be served by the committee.
Jim Jelken and Dennis Koch of Akron will perform a juggling act at the district Farm Bureau RAVE event in Primghar on November 1. Both are Akron Community High School students and sons of local families. County winners advance to represent district 3 at the Iowa Farm Bureau convention in December.
The Home Culture Club met at Mrs. J. P. Trotzig’s home on Tuesday October 25. Mrs. Fred Claesson Jr reviewed The Glory and the Lightning by Taylor Caldwell for the group.
Mr and Mrs Le Roy Sands host a dinner at Bilttote honoring Mr and Mrs Marian Morehead for their 49th wedding anniversary. The piece notes visits from Marian Morehead and Marie Casals to the Massey home, plus several other dinner guests including the Christoffersons of Ainsworth Nebraska. Lt John L Shirk, 24, stationed with the 3rd Infantry division in Wurzburg Germany, earned the Bronze Physical Fitness award after trials in marksman ship track and field, with details on his Army career and education. Additional social visits span Okoboji and Fullerton California, Minneapolis, Sheldon and Rock Valley, with multiple families named and dinners hosted across the region.
Mr and Mrs George Stowe of Akron announce the birth of a son on November 1 1975 at St Luke s Medical Center Sioux City.
Susan Mockler daughter of Mr and Mrs Jack Mockler Chatsworth and Donald M McManaman son of Ms and Mrs Donald W McManaman Hawarden were married October 25 1975 at St Marys Catholic Church. Officiating was Father William Carrel at 2 pm. The bride wore a floor length shim mering satin gown with white lace and green edging, a Juliet cap veil, and carried yellow and white mums with baby's breath. Nancy Monarch Sibley maid of honor, Patty Anderson, Joyce Moeller, Angie Austine as attendants. flower girl a niece in emerald gowns. Best man John McManaman, Hawarden. ushers Denny Anderson and Dale Liston. ringbearer Ronny Mockler. Bob Wagers Loren Monarch Randy DeWall as ushers. Mothers wore contrasting gowns. After a trip to the Ozarks, the couple will reside on a farm southeast of Hawarden.
Dorothy and Henry Borgman of Alcester marked their silver anniversary with an October 19 open house at Akron Country Club hosted by Dennis and Nelda Hultgren and family. Pastors, a catered lunch, and a 3:30 talk featured. He recently retired from the Chicago Transit Authority. she retired after a long career. The couple plans winter in Arizona.
