FAA Regulates Firing of Rockets in Civil Air Rules
The FAA has issued new rules effective March 14, 1968 governing unmanned rocket firing. Prohibitions apply within five miles of airports and in controlled airspace, or when rockets reach cloud cover or altitudes with poor visibility. A 24 to 48 hour prior notice to air traffic control is required. model and display rockets with limited propellant are largely exempt.

Oregon State University extension specialists report life expectancy improves with age. A 65 year old man has about 10 more years and a 65 year old woman about 12. At 70, men average 7 to 10 years and women about 11 to 16. Even at 80, both genders have several years left for living and work.

Camp Sunnyside to Open June 11 for Handicapped Campers
ISCC Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines will launch its 1963 summer program for physically handicapped campers on June 11 with staff training. The camp runs June 16 through August 30 in five 12 day sessions, offering swimming crafts nature lore boat safety archery and more for over 450 campers aged eight and up.
