Carl Hultman a 30 year old carpenter was killed instantly at the Consolidated Power and Light plant in Piuma near Deadwood South Dakota when his crowbar touched high voltage lines causing a 11 000 volt electric contact during repair work.
Tons of brick and plaster crashed from the standing walls of the Gottschalk Auditorium, burned a year ago, onto the Spaulding automobile garage beside it, burying the structure beneath the debris.
Mrs. Sam Rasmussen, wife of a prominent farmer near Kensett, died after twenty four hours of suffering from burns received when a lamp placed on a hot stove exploded. In Dubuque a man held a bottle of sulphuric acid exploded and injures Ollie Hasler, 21, who may lose sight of both eyes.

Also under consideration were rebates on insurance rates, prohibited by a proposed bill with penalties, and a separate bill to appoint two state insurance commissioners by the auditor with salaries of 3000 and 2000 dollars.
The house committee on the compensation of public officers recommended passage of Finlayson of Grundy county bill to raise the superintendent of public schools salary to 3000 dollars. Keosauqua resident Jesse Cubberly died at his home. A blacksmith by trade for most of his life, he retired years ago and was a Civil War veteran.
William Graham of Des Moines, a member of the soldiers home, was arrested in Marshalltown on a charge of insanity filed by Commandant Horton of the home.
Jefferson Williams who died suddenly will have the body exhumed for stomach contents examination by experts. His heirs criticize the will as inconsistent with the deceaseds intentions. Paul Billingsley of Manchester has been offered a river and harbor position with the U S government and will be stationed at Dubuque for now.
N K Wicks and Iowa Tank Line sue National Refining in district court seeking 50000 damages for alleged breach of contract. Petition claims the refinery disposed inferior oil in the company’s name and misrepresented conditions. The Iowa firm, incorporated for 200000, accuses the refiners of halting local competition against Standard Oil’s rival.
Clarence Griffin, claiming to be A A Miller's illegitimate son, seeks one third of the estate and has filed a legal action. Mrs. A A Miller had earlier sued to contest the will and neared a settlement with other heirs when Griffin appeared. The estate includes real and personal property and about $10,000 in bank cash.
Conrad Geise a renowned Council Bluffs figure died in western Iowa. He arrived in 1863 and ran a large brewery until the prohibitory law, though the brewery was not subject to the law, he closed it out of duty. He also managed a model 800 acre stock farm near the city with $30,000 worth of buildings and valuable stock.
The new Congregational church, costing 34000 dollars, was dedicated with Professor Graham Taylor of Chicago delivering the dedicatory sermon. More than 12000 dollars was to be raised, over 8000 of which was pledged during morning services, about 300 more in the evening, leaving a few thousand still unsubscribed as all city churches joined the Congregational in the evening services.
