Local deaths, hospital visits, and moves noted. Town Council warns all loose dogs will be picked up and destroyed between March 5 and October 15, 1972.

Mrs Nellie Butcher 77 formerly Nellie Pearl Peck died February 14 at Seattle Washington Funeral and burial were February 17 in Seattle She was born December 14 1894 at Elk Point She lived in Akron worked at Akron hospital moved to Seattle in 1936 Survivors include daughter Marlene Jurgerson Ida Grove son Glenn Seattle sister Mrs George Allan Correctionville and eight grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren

Lillian Davidson celebrated her 96th birthday on February 28 with a lunch hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Young. A life sketch by Marel Bennett and a birthday song followed. Community friends attended and offered well wishes as Anna Meyer, Dora Lynch and Margaret Krenz moved to a new addition. Visitors included John Mirks and family, with several local residents and church members noted for gatherings, prayers, and social events around March.
Mrs. Ella Boetger thanks friends and neighbors for cards flowers and many acts of kindness during her recent illness expressing appreciation for support shown by the community.
Mrs. Lloyd Huebsch born Anna Wendt September 1 1896 in Merrill died February 27 in Akron after a long illness. Funeral services were March 1 at Trinity Lutheran Akron with Rev Durwood Clauson officiating. Burial Le Mars Memorial cemetery directed by Schroeder funeral home. Survivors include a sister in law Leila Huebsch Le Mars and several cousins.
Members meet at Mrs. J P Trotzig on March 7. Margaret Stoutenberg reviews Sandhill Sundays by Mari Sandoz. Club donates lounge chair to nursing home. Border Bells 4-H Club met Feb 14 at Janet Finzen's. pledge led by Paulette Hitze mann and Marlene Hitzemann presiding. Planned tour March 4 at 1:00, $5 to National 4H Center and Ch-sar-ben, fair dates Aug 6-9, bring 50 cents for fruit basket, demonstrations on sewing and tote bag, next meeting March 13 at Hitzemann's. Marvin Emrey Klemme 54 of Akron died February 25 1972 after a life rooted in farming and community service. He married Mildred Lemen in 1938 and had four children Myrna Jo Merlyn Lee Merrie Katherine. A longtime member and elder of the First Church of Christ he also served as Master Mason and district lecturer. Surviving family includes his widow three children and many relatives. Funeral services were held at the First Church of Christ with Masonic rites at Riverside Cemetery under Schroeder Funeral Home.
