Westfield notes from a weekend of visits in Sioux City and Hull. Mrs Rose Burke and Edith Bergum spent time with relatives, while George High School girls lost to George in a basketball game. Local clubs held meetings, Lent devotions begin, and a seven item schedule covers social events, improvements, and upcoming games and services.

A flurry of midweek and weekend activities is recorded. Henry Cramer and Julius and Milford Hultgren attended sales and visited friends near Beresford, with purchases including a cafe and Farmall tractors. Families move to Akron and the Richter and John Ericson farms as weather delays a Farmers Union meeting.
The 500 club wrapped up the year with prizes awarded at the Alfred Kjose home. Women’s high went to Mrs Ed Heeren, men’s high to Elmer Heeren, women’s low to Mrs Ed Johnson, and men’s low to Ed Kjose. Neighbors and visitors are noted, including Esther Miller assisting in moving, and several families listed as moving into the community in March.
Special correspondence from Chatsworth reports Louie Wilkens and wife visiting relatives in town over the weekend. Orin Harris attended a Sioux City stock sale purchasing a head for his herd. Moving has dominated local business since Friday morning as families settle in. New Chevy arrives for G. J. Vanden Berg, a 1935 model, bought last Saturday in Akron. Amanda Hendricks and Mrs. Joe Westover visitations noted in Sioux City and Haywarden. Mrs. E. H. Johnson hosts a P. C. C. C. meeting with light refreshments. Millard Wakeman returns from two weeks in Hudson aiding his uncle on the mail route. A. H. Pilla and family return to the farm after thirty years away. Neighbors help Roy Patrick move to the Frank Wakeman farm, the Tom Snyder place. Carl Schweisow family moves into a garage to start repair work.
Union Creek church will hold Sunday evening services March 10 at 8 o'clock. Ladies' Aid will meet at Luther Hall Thursday afternoon March 14 with Mrs. Arthur Wilcox hosting. Visitors include Wayne Waterman Hannah Sellberg from Sioux City. The Sykes family and Mrs. Elmer Hultgren shopped in Sioux City Monday. Seeley family spent Sunday with Eddie Anderson. Albert Anderson spent weekend in Omaha. Clifford Johnson visited C. V. Boden and Frank Simeon homes. Sykes returned from Fort Dodge Iowa after a week visiting. Ross Root and family also mentioned.

Milnerville residents share updates on friends and relatives in Sioux City and Montana, school and club meetings, weddings, illnesses, fishing for farm plans, and local social events with mentions of the Jensen wedding and the upcoming Farmers Union program.

Id Willer of Wessington visits L F Taylors. once worked for L F. Norma and Elnora Johnson visit play at Westfield.
Social notes from Ruble region report Sunday dinner guests at the Barth Miller home and a sequence of visits among families. The 4 H club entertained at the Marbach home while multiple local residents hosted or traveled for gatherings. Mrs. Emery Klemme was hospitalized in Akron. Alvin Klemme bought a new Chevrolet.
Mr and Mrs Carrol Hamilton and sons visited the Dick Hamilton home Sunday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Arthur Lewison and Ernest and Dwayne Johnson were guests at the Eddie Lewison home Thursday evening and brought Howard a birthday cake. Mrs James Lycan and Albert Hamilton of Sioux City and Mr and Mrs R C Hamilton motored to Colombo.
Gwendolyn and Thomas Lycan of Sioux City visited Mr and Mrs William Skinner and Mr and Mrs Richard Ball on Friday and Saturday. Henry Busch hosted visitors Sunday. Levert Sommervold and family were guests of Eddie Lewison. Howard Lewison spent Sunday with Bert Shuck. George Hamilton accompanied by Winner, 8. D., returned Friday after visiting relatives.

Newton Iowa officials announce a trainload of 4400 Maytag washers worth nearly 500000 shipped to Pacific coast dealers. It is the largest Maytag factory shipment since 1928. The order was placed by T A Moler president of Maytag Pacific Intermountain Company with Portland headquarters.
Increased demand forced a trainload shipment to meet dealers immediate needs. The consist included about 1,000 washers for California dealers. The train will travel as a unit to Salt Lake City where cars will be distributed to dealers.
County dog licenses become delinquent April 1 with a one dollar penalty on unpaid licenses. Payable at the County Auditor's office in LeMars. L. A. Ludwig, County Auditor.
