Charley Wang moved onto the Ole Silkebakken farm. families Carlson and Sally Ann joined gatherings at the Welch and Red Vold homes. Hilma stayed with relatives. Ma rie Rodvold visited from Friday through the weekend. Orville Welch and Eugene Hilton spent an evening with Russell Huff. Harley Goodroad and Betty Welch visited the Welch home. Wesley Heeren Hugo Granstrom and Milo Heeren visited the Ed Heeren home.
Special correspondence notes Willis Crow son of Mr and Mrs William Crow underwent an operation on his foot Thursday morning at St Vincent’s hospital in Sioux City. Several families from nearby areas visited and attended events including a Pete Willer sale and birthday reminders for Mrs Lizzie Nannen.
Mrs. Laura Mills left for Denver after her son's serious illness, with daughter Mrs. Jno. Witte. Bertrand family from Salix will farm Hartwig’s former place. Hartwigs move to Lorenzen farm east of town. Ladies' Aid drew a good crowd at Community Hall. Westfield High students head to state sectional in George, Iowa, facing George first. Numerous local visits, moves, and hosting extended through the weekend and early week among area families and friends.
Farrell Harrington will replace another at the Standard Oil station and move with his family to the Jake Goudie farm near North River side. The Harry Michael family will move into the home left by the Wayne Lias family. Mrs Cecil Harrington hosts St Catharine's Guild Thursday. Mrs Bert McGuire from Elk Point visits Ray Connolly's home. Ray McCue hosts Bridge club Wednesday. Fillerton lumber yard now run by Mr Wenzer of Lead, S.D. Dave Cassel, longtime manager, has not stated plans.
Sioux City live stock records note Spaulding Bros of Westfield among buyers on market Tuesday last week. They shipped 40 head of Hampshire hogs raised and fattened by themselves, averaging 264 pounds and selling at 8.60 dollars per hundredweight.
