The Plymouth county work activity center reports progress toward a $100,000 fund drive to construct a new industrial building west of the NIPCO site. The private non profit center aids severely handicapped adults with work and social activities, and seeks local donations to finish financing the 70 by 125 foot facility. New boat registration law to take effect July 1 in Iowa

Union Creek Ladies Diamond group held a religious service at the nursing home with sandwiches coffee bingo and small gifts for prizes. Visitors from Evans ton Akron Sioux City Le Mars and other towns called on residents while outings and a Disney film Restless Sea entertained guests. A wind storm woke the home early Saturday and left debris but plants flourished as flowers were brought in and residents enjoyed the day.
