Westfield notes Pilgrim Fellowship will meet Sunday June 28 at 7 00 p m in the Congregational Church to start the book Everyday Christians no assignments yet but to be prepared by Sunday Attending are Ron Horsley Stan Knapp Sue Mansfield Dixie Beaubien and Florence Banks They plan a Pilgrim Heights camp trip at the end of July Sue Mansfield received a letter from Bung Sang Sik describing 200 hens and two dogs at the orphanage and learning English He finds it hard He also said he enjoys playing outside in summer in Korea Mr and Mrs Dary Smith and boys returned from a vacation through North Dakota Minnesota and Canada They spent a day with the George Roder family in Langdon North Dakota Mrs Roder is the former Erla Beth Schoep of Westfield

Finger Lost In Silage Cutter Accident Near Hawarden
Frank Buryanek of Hawarden area $ east of town along Highway 10 lost his left fourth finger when his glove caught in a silage cutter while removing hay. The index finger was badly mangled but sewed by the doctor. He previously lost the tip of the third finger on the same hand in a prior farm accident. the third finger survived this incident.

Special to Register Tribune from USS Midway reports radioman third class Robert RE. Mook son of Elmer Mook Route 1 Akron Iowa recently returned to Alameda California aboard the 62000 ton Navy carrier after a six and a half month Far East cruise with the U S Seventh Fleet. The ship visited Hawaii Hong Kong Subic Bay Sasebo Beppu Iwakuni and Yokosuka during the voyage and will stay in Alameda about a month before resuming Pacific Fleet operations on the California coast.
