Special correspondence from Westfield reports Mr. and Mrs. Russell Waterbury at Alces ter South Dakota where he works in a barber shop. Several residents travel, visit kin, and attend guild meetings. Local sports note Westfield beats Hub City 12 2 and upcoming game at Pender Nebraska. Obituary for Thus Hanes, longtime Westfield resident, dies at 84.
Obituary notes and community updates recall long time resident who served as city weighmaster, assistant cashier, secretary of the board of education and city clerk. Numerous visits to Emerson Nebraska and Stone Park for a picnic honoring Ida Welch and daughter Marvie.
Special Correspondent Miss Frances Gabel of Western Union College LeMars tours several states with a girls sextette. Cecil Holder, jailed for harness theft, formerly lived here. Mrs. Dave Cassel of Westfield visits, leaving daughter Elsa Cassel with her aunt in North Dakota. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Milner and daughter Janet visited Sioux City. Orville and Lowell Trometer, ex-Plymouth county residents, return from Texas farming near Cherokee. Howard Trometer works for Mr. Brownlee this season.
