Graduation Night Honors and Town News In Westfield

May 27 marked Eighth Grade Graduation with Cheryl Banks leading the procession for sixteen students including Cinda Angove and David Faust. Awards were presented by Mr Britton and Mr Galloway announced his departure. Community notes welcome new residents the Pecks, and local events include a Spink horseshoe match, St Catherine's Guild tea, CYO picnic, and various church society meetings. A second column from John Edgar Hoover warns against CPUSA influence and Communist agitation in the United States, detailing the DuBois Clubs and the 1965 Washington march with a call to loyalty to America.

Peace Corps to Test on June 12 at Sioux City Post Office

Local residents may test their aptitude for Peace Corps service at 9 a.m. Saturday June 12 in Room 402 at the Sioux City Post Office Building. The Peace Corps Placement Test measures general ability and language learning potential, with no pass or fail result. The exam lasts about 90 minutes, with an extra hour for optional Spanish or French achievement testing. Applicants should bring a completed Peace Corps application.

Akron Pool Opens June 14 With Red Cross Lessons

The Akron Pool will open June 14 under the Murrells, open daily 2 to 9 pm until August 29. Adults only Wednesday evenings 7 to 9 pm. Lessons begin June 21 and end July 23, with 18 sessions set under Red Cross guidance. Registration first week during open hours. Prices: family season $15, single season $10, single admission 50 cents for 13 and over, and under 12.
