Wynoka Chapter to Observe 50th Eastern Star Anniversary

Wynoka Chapter No. 107 Order of the Eastern Star in Elk Point will mark its 50th founding anniversary on Sunday June 10 with an Open House at the Masonic Hall from 2 to 6 pm. Worthy Matron Elvina Morse and Worthy Patron Earl Boldenow invite members and friends. two 50 year members are Mrs Marie Christenson and Mrs Grace Douglas. charter members include Miss Kathryn French and Mrs Christenson. The history will be presented and a group photo taken.

Pork Fair in Sioux City Expected to Draw 25000

Pork Fair officials estimate more than 25 000 people will attend the Saturday event in Sioux City, possibly the largest crowd in five years. The program opens 8 30 a m in the Stockyards area with ample parking, free noon meals, and a slate of entertainments including Leo Greco and His Pioneers and the Flames. The event ends around 2 p m with crowning of the Pork Day King and grand prize Pontiac Safari Wagon awarded.
