Family Connections Mark July Visits Across States

Shirley A. Johnson of Tucson arrived July 17 to spend a week with her mother Etta Huff and relatives including Eldon Huff. Her sister and brother in law from St Paul joined July 23. Other visitors include the Huff family, Pendrick, Dams, and many neighbors. Jamie Miller celebrated his first birthday with grandparents Bill and Patty Miller and many relatives. Weekend visitors to Jerry Smith’s home included Reynolds family from St Paul. Neil McLane and family visited Bethesda Home in Beresford for Mrs. McLane’s aunt Elizabeth Anderson’s 100th birthday on July 13.

Boni Johnson Earns SDSU Degree in July Graduation

Boni Johnson of Akron joins about 200 SDSU students completing degree requirements for July graduation at South Dakota State University Brookings. Taylor completes marine recruit training at San Diego

Marine Private Rellen S. Taylor, son of Mr and Mrs Robert L Taylor of Westfield route 1, has completed an 11 week recruit training cycle at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego California. He learned battlefield survival basics, daily routine, standards, physical conditioning, first aid rifle marksmanship and close order drill. The 1975 Westfield Community School graduate joined the Marine Corps in March 1976.

Westmar College Offers Janus Program for Older Learners

Westmar college in Le Mars opens a program named Janus for older or retired people to live on campus and take courses. It welcomes nontraditional students toward degrees or individual courses with no specific educational background required.
