Mr and Mrs David Duncanson of Merced California left after a week’s visit to the Burker and Gate households. Henry Richters returned to Centerville after a week with his mother Emma Richters and kin. Kenneth Meade Jr and children and Ronald Meade and daughter of Davenport visited their grandmother Dick Richters. Community Baby Contest Thank You Note

On behalf of all the children in the community we thank everyone who supported the baby contest last week. Thanks for your votes which will fund playground equipment. Regional soil conservation meeting held in Cherokee Iowa

The Iowa Association of Soil Conservation District Commissioners met July 18 in Cherokee for Region 1 events at the Country Kitchen. Contestants from Plymouth Woodbury Ida O'Brien and others competed in the Conservation Speech Contest on Better Soil and Water Conservation Through Community Action. Carl Sitzmann placed second and Jeffry Keil won first. The gathering reviewed Rural Development and SCS Framework plans with Plymouth County attendees listed.
