Westfield area residents report numerous weekend visits and travels. Kenneth Hummel hosted relatives in Escherville Iowa, while Hawarden and Akron families gathered for visits. A death page honors Dan Welch of Westfield with funeral details and family condolences.
A Southwest Plymouth wedding for Vernon Robinson and Ann Harrington drew many local attendees at Westfield Congregational Church on Sunday. A shower for Ralph Vondrak of Perry township and Ann Johnson of Sioux City occurred July 20 at Hancock township hall. The county completed graveling roads in southwest Plymouth after delays from a winter storm. Donnie Fymbo built a small motor car and joined a Jaycee contest in Sioux City on Sunday afternoon July 20. The contest was very competitive.
Mr and Mrs Levi Beauchenne will depart soon for Manhattan Kansas where their son Roy will pursue a master’s degree at the college there. Norman Webber remains in critical condition after over a week in St Joseph’s Hospital Sioux City as this note was written.
Sunday evening guests at the Roy Robinson home included Joy Johnson of Wausa Archie Johnson and Dennis of Creighton Glen Robinson Lowell Jones and families Lawton Walden Harding family Leads Wayne McCrill family Jefferson Gale Robinson family Sioux City and Sharon Robinson visited grandparents last week Vernon Robin fits in the wedding. Sunday dinner guests at Frank Mackey home included Darrell Hunt and Francis Mackey Sioux City.
Sunday services at Big Springs Baptist Church announce morning worship at 10 and Sunday school at 11 with Union Band Shell service led by Nathanael Litheran. Prayer meeting Wednesday at 8. Local residents note weekend visits including the Fletcher, Dimmick, Fredrickson, Sayles, Maynard, and Jeffers families. A small want ad promises good results.

The Preston Pearls 4-H Club met at Edith Milbrodt's home for a picnic supper on Friday night, July 18, detailing a small local gathering and host household involvement.
After the picnic we held a business meeting planning the County 4 H Fair at LeMars. Our next meeting will be at Donna Schneider's home, and we received tickets to sell for the fair. The evening ended with softball and note of Want Ads success.
Morning worship at 9 30 titled The Value of Vacation with Sunday school at 10 30 for all ages including an adult Bible class. Rev Mr Steele leads August 3 to 10 with services and a church picnic August 8 at Keith Knapp farm at 12 80 p m Ladies Aid meets Thursday.
