King passes in Siam tale and Stephens plow founder dies

A Sioux City man claims to have witnessed a Siam king drive through streets and toss folded notes to a scrambling crowd. George Stephens, founder of the Moline Plow Company, died in Moline aged 88. He helped build the firm from a small shop into the world’s largest steel plow works, employing about 4,500 workers. The Wisconsin legislature is urged to re elect Senator Spooner, praised as a national character and influential debater who authored civil government for the Philippines and the Panama Canal compromise.
