Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. for a school board member and Congregational church member. Rev. Geo Pullman of the Sioux City First Congregational church officiated. Pallbearers included John Sweyer, Earl Michael, A. A. Martin, Victor Brurndeen, Stanley Lilly, and M. W. Conway. Burial followed at Log Logan Park cemetery in Sioux City, arranged by Rossow's Funeral Home of Akron.
The Town Council of Westfield Plymouth county Iowa will meet August 1 1938 at 7 P M at Town Hall Taxpayers will be heard for or against the following estimate of expenditures N R Beaubien Town Clerk.
Miss Joyce Tmamick thanks friends and relatives in Sioux City for gifts received while in the hospital through her Sunday school class and the Ladies Aid. Mrs Frank Emmick, delegate to the Republican state convention at Des Moines last Friday, missed the event due to a family illness.
Union County Health Department urges residents in Sioux Valley and flood-affected zones to boil drinking water for the next two months. Wells along the Sioux River will be tested for possible typhoid contamination. Cooperation requested to prevent an epidemic. W. F. Bushnell M. D. Director Union County Health Unit.
