Special Correspondence reports Mr. and Mrs. Oscar W. James of San Francisco with their children Roberta and Oscar, and Mrs. P. A. Anderson of Salem, visiting the August Erickson home. They also saw Mrs. Lena Monson of Beresford and Mrs. Ella Hammer in Cen tervice. They traveled home from the Chicago fair praising improved coloring, lighting, and new attractions.
Mrs Manford leaves for Ames Indiana to live with and care for an elderly woman. Mrs Orin Harris and daughters visit Mrs M O Larson in Orange City. Lois Jean stays over through Sunday. Luthberan Ladies Aid picnic at John Tamman home despite strong wind. Mrs Bengtson and children visit Akron. M C Stone and wife of Sioux Falls spend Sunday with Joe Westover. Ross Hilton family visit Rae Webb. Anna Hentrich visits Hawarden. Chris Scheifen family shop Hawarden and Sioux City. Joe Meuret and Grover Williams visit Scheifen home. Mary Lilts and Kirk Paulson visit Scheifen home. Mrs Arthur Cornish returns from Alvord visit with Bartley Ogden. Jimmy Scheffen and Joe Meuret in Sioux City on business.
Mrs Mary Tracy spent the weekend with her son Dr J B Tracy in Sioux City. Dr O E Geisel and family and Miss Maxine Seyler visited in the Wm Seyler home. A Ladies Aid cold supper drew a large crowd in Community Hall. Mrs Rose Shearer underwent major surgery in St Josephs Sioux City and is recovering well. Numerous other residents and guests are noted visiting relatives or staying with families in Akron Denison Hawarden Brookings Richland and Sioux City. Born to A J Thornton and Mrs Thornton twins a son and a daughter.
Westfield defeated Akron 8 to 7 after a tense Riversioux affair. Brosamie started for Westfield, wild early, Muir committed three errors, and Kapfer closed strong. Akron’s Tucker worked two solid innings as Akron heads to Elk Point while Westfield travels to Hudson Sunday.
Special correspondence from Pleasant Hill notes social visits across Elk Point Akron Vermillion and Miller as families including Welch Huff Hensley Heasley share gatherings and celebrate Art Strong and Charles Reams 80th birthday. A Ladies Aid meeting is announced with a prepared lunch and dues.
Mr and Mrs Olof Kjose and their daughter spent Sunday with Mrs Mike Kjose. Mr and Mrs Carl Suckow and their children, and John Schmidt of Cleveland Ohio visited in the Will Bubs and Fred Wang homes with other relatives and friends.

Families from Akron and Craig joined afternoon visits, and Sunday school picnic at Neary's Park drew attendees from the English Lutheran church.
Condolence is extended to Mr and Mrs Chris Hull on the death of one of their twin daughters. A large group of neighbors attended the funeral. George Cain of Springfield visited after Mrs Cain’s stay with relatives. Mrs Frank Smith and others spent Thursday at Elk Point. Trinity Lutheran Aid met in church parlors with devotionals and lunch. Westfield 4 H girls met at Rozell s. Mr and Mrs Robertson from Le Mars visited the L F Taylor home Sunday.
Special Garland correspondence notes a cluster of social visits with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heyl and family dining at the Henry Busch home. Mrs. Dick Hamilton and Mrs. William Skinner visited Mrs. Busch and daughters Friday afternoon. Dick Hamilton tended corn with Orin Allen this week and Earl Hamilton appeared on the sick list Wednesday.
Sunday with Mr and Mrs John Barington of Sioux City. Mr and Mrs Ed Lewison were callers at the Albert Lewison home. Hol Lewison kept hogs and Dick Hamilton had cattle and hogs on the Sioux City market Thursday.
Elmer Petty is appointed Administrator of the estate of Ela May Lias, deceased, Plymouth County Iowa. The District Court orders him to collect, manage, and settle all goods and chattels with full authority to act under the law. Witness dated June 25, 1934, with publication set for July 5, 12, and 19, 1934.
