Special correspondence from Milnerville reports Mr and Mrs Richard Milner and daughter Janet visiting Sioux City with Richards sister Mrs Alva Clair. The piece notes local harvest timing, rainfall, and several family visits, plus a hospital release for Ernest Campbell after a shotgun accident. Weather remains hot with scattered showers and continued corn progress.
Special correspondence from Adaville lists numerous local gatherings and visits over the Fourth of July. Families hosting guests include the Kings, Gabels, and Dreeszens, with extended attendance at church and community events. A new birth is noted for Clarence and Mrs. Anderson, and Bethel Sunday school plans an ice cream social at Sunnyside high school.
Lois Jean Harris visited Alton for a week with her uncle and aunt Dr. and Mrs M O Larson. Leona Hendricks visited Edna Erickson of Big Springs over the Fourth. Lutheran Mission Festival will be held here next Sunday with dinner in the M E B church. Mrs Will Ludwig and Louie Brabander were called to Le Mars by the death of their father Gerd Brabander.
Sunday morning services at Union Creek church begin 11 o'clock with Sunday school at 10. The Luther League social is set for Tuesday July 16 at the Lawrence Ericson home with Mrs. Gee and Adamson joint hostesses. Ladies Aid meets Thursday July 18 at Mrs. FH. R. Anderson. Luther League birthday supper at Luther Hall on Tuesday July 23 starting 8 o'clock. Admission 25 cents over 15, under 15 by age. First course hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Herron, second by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ericson, Hannah Sellberg, and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wiberg, third by Bertil Shoulberg, Tillie Fredell, Mrs. Wayne Waterman, Emil Koch. Guests include Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rasmussen and Pearl and Lyle at Elmer Hultgren home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Sommervold and family visited H. E. Bradley Sunday. Mrs. Agnes Boden, Gordon and Kathleen visited Clifford Johnson Sunday. Dennis Hultgren underwent tonsil surgery at Akron Hospital Monday. Union Creek Extension club meets Monday afternoon at Art McConville home. Edna Olson returns from Sioux City hospital. Elmer Hultgren and family visited Wesley Heeren’s home Tuesday. Wesley Heeren and sons visited Earl Heasley in Vermillion Sunday.

Mr and Mrs John Kallsen visited Akron on Saturday afternoon. Others from Brunsville Adaville and nearby areas joined in a Fourth of July fishing trip to Silver Lake Indiana.

Fourteenth annual Cedar Falls Interdenominational Bible Conference at Riverview Park Cedar Falls Iowa runs July 28 to August 4 with several outstanding religious speakers in the program.
The conference draws pastors and workers from towns and neighboring states with free public sessions. Speakers include Colonel Raymond Robbing on topics like Japan Hitler and International Peace and others such as Dr. Merton Rice Dr. J. C. Massee and Dr. A W Beaven. Missionaries Dr. John J Banninga and Dr. John C DeKorne also speak, with music by Town State Teachers College ensembles and Cedar Falls bands. accommodations offered at Riverside Park with local Akron merchants ads urging home spending.
