Visitors and family gatherings fill Chatsworth week
A succession of local visits and social events fills the Chatsworth area. Mrs. Fannie McKee hosted relatives from Hawarden, Akron visitors were seen in the D Popken and Henry Collmann homes, and Dorothy Kauphman from Correctionville stopped by. Family reunions occurred in Hartley and Ireton, with extended family from Omaha and Fort Leonard Wood visiting Hawarden and surrounding towns.

Funeral services for Gladys Cross 84 of Mallard were held June 22 at the United Methodist Church Mallard. Burial in Rush Lake Cemetery. She was born April 23 1889 at Westfield Iowa educated at Westmar College taught rural Westfield schools 1908 1913 married Jesse Cross 1913. Surviving include three sons one daughter eight grandchildren four great grandchildren and three sisters. Her husband died in 1971.
