Westfield Club News and Local Social Notes

Westfield residents share Sunday visits at the Dreeszen and Deno homes and recognize Christmas Seals with net proceeds of 131.76 dollars. Funeral notices honor J. H. Paramore. Ames student David Lilly returns home for the service in Hawarden. Pioneer photographer at Hawarden dies

J H Paramore 91 longtime Hawarden photographer and businessman died Friday at his daughter's home in Westfield Iowa. Born July 5 1863 in England he came to the United States at 18 settling in LeMars later moving to Hawarden where he ran the photography business until retiring six years ago. He married Eva Gosting in 1898 and was active in Hawarden Congregational church serving as deacon and Sunday school superintendent. Survivors include son Robert G Paramore of Quincy Illinois, daughter Mrs Lilly and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Barnard Funeral Home Hawarden with burial in Grace Hill cemetery.

Westfield Congregational Church announces a Saturday January 22 bake sale at Hawk's Stove and a Sunday morning worship service at 9 30 with sermon on Prayer and Healing of Our Sickness. Choir practice led by Mrs Florence Knapp and offertory envelopes available via treasurer David Lilly. Big Springs Baptist Church lists services on Sunday with morning worship Sunday school and Crusader and CA fellowship plus a Wednesday Bible study and choir rehearsal.
