Mrs Henry Collmann hosts last Friday visitors including Mrs Doering and Mrs Kruse while Jim Moller shares supper. Raymond Gabel and Colin Collmann visit Tuesday. G Moller spends Sunday with Ken Johnsons in Omaha. Numerous relatives attend family dinner for 20 at the Henry Collmann home. Cherry Ham with Cherry Sauce for Washington Birthday

Akron Assembly No. 172 Rainbow Girls held its 24th officer installation at the Masonic Temple on Sunday January 19 Roxanne Benda was installed as Worthy Advisor. The ceremony featured a Rainbow color arch and a Friendship aisle led by Robin Benda and other members. A Daisy yellow theme, spaghetti supper fundraiser, Rainbow candy sales, and a planned March slumber party were announced along with upcoming church services and a February 5 meeting to install choir director Mary Snow and Outer Observer Nancy Wales. Marc Lewison Named to USC Honor List

Marc A. Lewison of Akron was named to the scholastic honor list for the first semester at the University of South Dakota School of Business. USD honors list names Marten Trotzig and 293 peers

The University of South Dakota dean announces the fall honor lists for arts and sciences. Marten Trotzig is among 54 seniors with perfect 4.0 records, while 294 students overall are honored, including 159 with perfect grades. | 102 freshmen join the dean’s list, with 26 earning straight A’s and others above 3.571.

Augustana honors list includes Akron student among top scholars

Jean Vruegdenhil of Akron is among 39 percent of Augustana College fulltime students earning high academic distinction in the first semester. Dean's list shows 722 students with at least a 3.1 average. 146 achieved perfect A grades. Eligibility requires at least three full courses and a 3.1 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Mrs. Almina Holm of Akron celebrated her 93rd birthday on Friday January 31 with family including daughters and husbands Herb Anderson of Trent South Dakota Lowell Bellwood and a son Frank both of Akron. Farmers Co-op stockholders meet in Akron March 1

The annual stockholders meeting of the Farmers Co operative of Akron will be held at the new Akron Community school on Saturday afternoon March 1 beginning at 1 p.m. Three directors will be elected one from Area I and two from Area II. A luncheon will be served at 12 noon. Door prizes will be given away after the meeting. Members are invited to attend. Plan to visit with friends.
