The Christmas stage and gift exchange occurred while the library and Westfield Community School close for holidays.

The Schobil Board of Education held a regular meeting December 8 1986 at 7 30 p m with all members present. President W B Neal led the meeting which approved minutes and discussed business department needs including bids for two electric typewriters and microscopes with lights. The board purchased bus seat belts and adopted new grammar books for grades 11 and 13. Gary Combs applied for a bus driving position. The group approved Hills for the microscopes and planned Christmas candy treats. Basketball scores from Westfield and Hull Christian are listed with leading scorers. Mrs Gretchen Bondie is remodeling an old Wyoming home and discovered flour sacks dated 1886.
About 35 000 veterans or Towans will receive annual income questionnaires from the Veterans Administration. Cards must be completed and mailed in the enclosed envelope. The questionnaire processing uses automatic data equipment across eight regional centers. If mail is identical, ignore differences. return by January 31 1967 to avoid halted payments until 1966 income is determined.
Gordon L. Menmon of LeMars, county chair, reported November sales of Series E and Heavis bonds in Plymouth County at 16,800 dollars. The county's eleven month total reached 755,484 dollars, 67 percent of its 1966 quota, leading in the abate. Fourteen more counties surpassed quota in November, totaling 36 over quota nationwide. Iowa sales for November totaled 6,989,280 dollars.
The eleven month total reaches 105,402,005 for 96 percent of the 1988 goal with county breakdowns. Woodbury reports 8,021,008 for 91 percent and nearby counties list figures such as 730,840 at 84 percent and 533,727 at 90 percent. The notice encourages patronizing local merchants.
A Wilton Junction gathering brought together five alumni for a reunion event. Attendees shared memories, photos, and updates on their lives since graduation, reflecting on longtime friendships and community ties.
