Westfield Community School celebrated homecoming with a coronation on December 20 in Alcester South Dakota where the B team defeated the A team. Flower and streamer carriers were named along with a list of court attendants and the crowned king and queen.

Miss Mary R. Tracy of Westfield Iowa died December 19 in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Born March 30 1884 she taught local schools and belonged to St Catherine s Church and Guild. Survivors include four brothers Dr John Tracy Sioux City James Tracy Westfield Frank Tracy Elk Point SD and Emmett Tracy Jefferson SD. Funeral at Blessed Sacrament Sioux City and burial at Calvary Cemetery. Also note funeral of Mrs Ann Wohilrabe in Mankato Minnesota with local relatives attending. State Conservation Commission accepted projects for final review including two bay tennis court near Sidney and Hickory Hills Park near Waterloo, funding and cost details. Agricultural price support loan rates increased to 6.0 percent from December 8 1968 with staggered previous rates for financial institutions.
